The NPDG shipping company is a private transport and island supply company and is responsible for the ferry service and freight transport between the North Sea island of Pellworm and the mainland all year round.

With around 1,700 ferry trips a year, Neue Pellwormer Dampfschiffahrts GmbH transports around 150,000 people, 30,000 cars, 5,000 lorries and 12,500 livestock on the route between Pellworm and the Strucklahnungshörn ferry port on Nordstrand.
